On Windows there's Squeezelite-X, or there's Squeezeplay for almost any
desktop.

I'm wondering if there is a way to play music from our LMS server on our
desktop computers? I can reach LMS from all of our desktop computers,
but they only point to the players. Is there a way that could make a
player out of the desktop?

You can also use some pi4 or clones (I think the radxa zero is 5GHz as
well) or at least use some squeezelite-esp32 based device to use 802.11n
which is still 2.4 but still much better.

I use the UPnP/DLNA bridge plugin which allows me to play direct to my
Kef LSX speakers - I'm listening to them now, as it happens. I assume
the same would be possible with Kef's LS50 Wireless speakers, which are
bigger. The LSXs also work with the Airplay plugin, but I think I'm
right in saying

somewhat outdated now that I'd like to start thinking of how to slowly
