The end of an era for me, my SB then SB2 then SB+ changed the way I
listen to music.
Much loved - but now not much used, so time to find a new home for SB+
(Patrick Dixon's 2 box audiophile upgrade of the SB2)

I've reported a bug in the OS priorities used on the Windows platform
that I think contributes to this problem.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong - but can someone tell me if it's
still possible to play 24bit Apple lossless files - and if so what
config changes I should make.

After some messing about with cobvert.conf I've managed to switch back
to using mov123 which works fine.
Would suggest that on windows platforms this should be the default
(rather than alac).

keeps iTunes up to date and I have some scripts to keep
playcount info in sync between the AAC and ALE files.
Only thing I don't have yet is the ability to crate MM playlists for
the iPod - although I could do this with a 'translate playlist from ALE
to AAC' script when I have time.
Phew!

How about an option:
If multiple tracks have identical track/artist/album tags, then ignore

That sounds like a really good idea. Anyone else like this idea?

- I didn't design it :-)
I guess it might be possible to do some type of batch rename - but it
makes it hard for people just using the apple defaults.

the tracks SlimServer already had - but didn't add new files. The new
files would only be added by scanning the directories I specify. Is
this of interest to anyone else?

Wireless SB2, Slimserver 6.02, Wireless 60%+, Slimserver on XP. All
music is Apple lossless. I usually have iTunes running on the server
too.

none of the NAS boxes supported Slimserver officially. Your box sounds
great - as long as it is quiet!
I'd like to see more than 400G - I need a little more than 300G for my
music plus backup files. I bought dual 400G disks so I could have a
backup online.

In my case not - my WAP is only 'b'. In fact the SB2 wireless does
better than the SB1 did wired. I'm also in the UK - not that it makes
any difference.
