In a separate discussion, someone pointed me to forked-daapd: https://github.com/ejurgensen/forked-daapd#forked-daapd This looks quite appealing - it has a long list of supported players, including ChromeCast which would fit my needs quite well. Anyone here tried it? - Korny On 8 April 2018 at

Jumping in as a lurker :) I'm not sure why I still subscribe to this list, nostalgia I guess... I haven't had a working slimserver for years. My current solution is not very hi-fi, but it's fairly simple and quite convenient: - All my music is copied to a MicroSD card on an Android tablet - I

Calm down a bit folks - no point getting so heated in speculation about what a company may or may not do, nor what they should or should not do - it's all highly hypothetical and not worth getting steamed up about! (this wasn't particularly about mlsstl - I just picked a post to reply to at

I tend to think, sadly, that for slim devices to make money, they need to integrate video. Audio fans want their crisp neat audio interface, but I think the mass market wants video as well - they want their downloaded tv/movies, they want youtube and netflix and whatever else they are watching.

Jumping in here, because I lost my Squeezebox in a breakup, so have been playing with UPnP a bit (it seems I'd have to spend $500 on a Squeezebox Touch if I wanted to go back to Squeezeboxes? Seems like paying a lot for features I don't really need) Anyway, I've been pretty impressed by how many

Thanks - it looks like, if I'm keen, I might be actually able to rip this record! ... not sure I'm as keen as some of the folks on those forums, mind. But I might give it a try. - Korny On 4 July 2011 20:51, Rick B. Rick.B..4wckkn1309776721@ no-mx.forums.slimdevices.com wrote: Lots of info

[slim] quadrophonic vinyl - ripping and playing?

Hi folks, I picked up a vinyl album last weekend - Paul Simon's self titled album - and discovered that it is Quadrophonic (!!!) Now, it sounds ok on my record player (yes, I have a record player; love collecting old records from markets and garage sales!), but I'm wondering: - How would you rip

This thread just convinced me to go out and get it - nice app; I especially like being able to download direct to my phone. Is there some way to stream music to the phone? Not really a vital feature, but I could be tempted to make my server internet-facing if I could play the music anywhere...

Sorry, I should have been clearer - that's someone else's flickr page, I'm using the Nokia skin but haven't gotten around to uploading a photo :) The touch-style interface is great mainly as the wii controller works like yet another remote control, but with a mouse style cursor as well for easy

Just a note, for anyone interested, the Nintendo Wii's opera browser works very nicely indeed with the Nokia770 skin... I was thinking of building a wii-specific skin, but the Nokia770 skin is pretty close to ideal out-of-the-box. Some text is a bit small in the default zoomed-out mode, but I
