tarted when I enabled the webserver functions of the Qnap,
the WAN access to my router and put the Qnap into the DMZ.
I'm off to discuss this on some networking forums, because I think it's
down to my own ineptitude, but if others are suffering similar problems,
then any
en overnight due to all the chippery still generating heat.
So now I have a Qnap TS-101 running slimserver, that I can upload music
to, goes into stand-by, is completely stable, silent and streams to
softsqueeze using about 200bits of my wireless bandwidth.

I can only think that the slimserver is chatting to the
router/modem/WAP which is keeping everything powered up, but that's
just a badly educated guess as they are the only two active items on
the n
AlienBBC is on the TS-101 out of the box, but all software is
propriatory.
So any additional plug-ins would have to be re-coded to suit the
version of slimserver on the TS-101.
