ah, i thought it would be a simpler swap - thanks anyway. probably simpler
to just get the wired box working wirelessly.

I have 2 version 1 SBs, one is wireless and without the graphic upgrade, and
the second is wired and with the graphic upgrade. Is it possible to swap the
displays on these two units? Is there a link from the old upgrade kit that
would show me the steps to do this?

using 6.5.1 i discovered a strange problem with the volume on the sb. i used
to be able to increase the volume in increments of 1 - now it goes
mute,2,5,7,9...sometimes steps of 2 and sometimes steps of 3. it still
*sounds* like it's scaling in ones, but the screen doesn't show this. did i

I upgraded to version 6.51 (SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 11067 - Windows XP -

smoothly. I use iTunes to manage the music. I have recently added album art
to all 18k+ files using mp3 tag. I also have an album.jpg and a folder.jpg

mine is locked in a closet where no one can see it. people always ask me how

all of these look good/viable. however, a big question
would be do you ever want *different* music in each room? if you wanted the

i saw this as well, but the press release doesn't mention anything about it
being based on a tripath chip - did you confirm this? although, a 99$
digital amp these days *has* to be tripath i guess. interesting stuff
nonetheless.

is it just me or did my slimserver get downright zippy as soon as i removed
the music magic and mood logic plugins? in fact, i've now removed all non
essential plugins in the hope of getting a little extra performance. (1.7ghz
P4, 768mb RAM v6.2 nightly from 9/12)
does this make any sense at all?
is it possible to have my flac collection transcoded to 2 SB1s - not
transcoded (stay flac) to an SB2 and still sync them all? (as a possible
wrinkle, 1 SB1 and the SB2 are wireless and another SB1 is wired)

while it's not a boom box, i currently use a sonic impact t-amp which runs
on 8aa batteries to power my paradigm titan speakers. this is both my indoor
bedroom setup (using a regulated 12v powersupply) and garden party setup
(using batteries). if you haven't heard about this little amp you can read
seconded, that's a great idea.

i'm in the 'don't fix it if it's working' school. i'm still running 5.4.1
under linux and haven't rebooted in months. i do occasionally lose
connection to slimserver and have the occasional wireless issues (not
related) due to the distance from my AP but i'm quite happy. i also never
use the 'brows
on one machine.
Search for "firewire san" for more info on doing this.

i want to move all my mp3's to an external firewire drive to share between
my windows xp desktop and mac osx laptop (on different occasions - not the
same time). if i format the drive for OSX win xp won't see it (i think) but
if i format it for win xp, OSX will see it (again, i think). are there an

my wireless SB1 is 2 floors away from base station and usually has a signal
strength of about 20-22% - does anyone know how much of an increase i would
get if i replaced its antenna with a high gain one? i've been getting
dropouts, slimserver disconnects etc..
thanks

isn't that exact device already available? i think it's called 'softsqueeze'
