no need to download again, just install 6.2.2 over the top of itself and
everything should be fine. I've seen this on XP and Server 2003 SBE,

Seems odd to me, after all, it is just an IE control on a form and the
same HTML data sent to it from the server.
You *may* have problems using it in future versions if the skins are
updated to use some more advanced features like AJAX and advanced form
validation etc.

Paul from Progressive has said in another thread that he will happily
take the unit back and re-install slimserver on a drive if it dies.
I don't know where he would stand on installing Slimserver on a
barebones TS-101 from another vendor though.

I was going to suggest something like this a couple of times, but never

I think touch was designed for a kiosk type situation, where the screen
would always be used for controling Slimserver. In that case, you might
not want to have any of the setup functions available, as you don't want
guests etc. messing around with your configuration.

If you are not using ADSL and aren't going to be in the near future,
then all you need in an access point.
Do you have any wired devices you want to connect as well?
Basic access points should be dirt cheap these days.

What skin are you using for the web interface? I can't think of any

Try using the Default skin you can change to this temporarily by going

well with 830+ albums and 12000ish tracks mine takes 6 second (roughly,
didn't use a stop watch, just counted) to list all the albums.
this is using the 500gig version, although the actual drive shouldn't
make a difference

etc. The WMA streams for the digital chanels are out sourced to a third
party, the BBC does not stream them to you itself.
I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC does move to a more open system
eventually.

Doesn't mean diddly to me, but it is still pretty cool. Removes one of
the negative points the SB gets in reviews etc.
Also not the first time big updates have been spotted in SVN before
they were announced. The SB3 leaked that way too :)

No. it's a firmware update for the SB2/3 only. The SB1 has different
hardware and does not support direct streaming, this is the feature
that SqueezeNetwork, Pandora and Rhapsody make use of.

The spec is higher: Core Duo 1.8ghz and 250gig hard drive compaired to

The amp may also just be taking the stereo signal and using the front
two speakers like a basic stereo would. My Pioneer surround amp can do
this, they call it Direct Stereo. I usually have it set to Surround:
Music instead, that way it uses the surround speakers and the sub.

Tag&Rename should be able to take your file names and convert them into
tags. You can then use FreeDB or Amazon to complete any missing
information and get album artwork if you want.

Excellent script though, did a much better ob than Foobar2000. for some
reason it didn't copy across all the artist names when it transcoded,
meant the archos had to guess and had large '?' icons over the album
names.

pretty much. a SqueezeBox never really powers off, 'off' is just a
player state with different settings for the display and brightness
etc. I guess if you set the screen to be completely black it wouldn't
be generating any heat, but the rest of the unit will still be powered.
never bought music from an online store such as iTunes, never intend to
either.
Still get all my CDs from local indipendant, high street chains, and
online retailers.

or without re-starting your laptop you can open a command window (Start
-> Run -> cmd) and enter "ipconfig /renew". If that doesn't work for
some weird reason, you can use "ipconfig /release" then "ipconfig
/renew".
Or like Tom said, just re-boot
Yeah, it's generally 11:00 Monday to Thursday and 14:00 on a
friday...ish :)
