it when I write DVD's, so that I could easily check the
integrity of the bits over time.
It may take some time with 100's of GB's in your case, but so what. You
don't have to sit there and watch it.

ID3 v2.3 tags written by MP3Tag.
Not sure which is to blame, but I'll guess the T9. When using the v2.3
tags written by EAC and lame, then all is okay on the T9.
I am surprised how poorly some of these portable mp3 players are
implemented. Slimserver and SB3 spoiled me.

In small environments, there is no need to use dhcp unless you are

compatiability.
In my environment the mp3 library is on Linux, but Samba shared to my
Windows machine. So, I use Delta Copy to sync a copy to my Windows
system for backup. I also sync another copy to a removeable USB hard
drive, which is kept offline.

I appreciate you sharing your experience with the forum. It is a good
reminder to be careful not to accidently knock over the SB when
mucking around behind the stereo equipment.
That must have been a heart stopping experience. Ooch.

The last officially released software (slimserver 6.2.1 and f/w 28)
was five months ago. Seems a bit lengthy. I prefer released software
(no nightly or beta), because I don't want to tinker and troubleshoot -
It's All About The Music of course.

I have never really seen SlimDevices respond to stability issues that
customers continually bring up. We all know that there are repeatable
problems. There should be patch releases that fix bugs
. IMO, I think
they are a bit pricey and the overall solution could be more robust.

I rip my cd's then check them with MP3TAG before moving the files to my
slimserver music directory. I've used MP3TAG for some time and pretty
happy with it. And it's free.

As an example, TiVo boxes can be hacked and modifications made (voids

I want to be able to stress test and am curious as to which of the audio
formats would provide a heavy load on the SB3?
Would it be FLAC, since the SB3 would have to uncompress a large audio
stream before playing?
Thanks!

their forums. Not sure how Sonic implements sync. I would believe
synchronization is very difficult to achieve.
