to bed and that's it.
Any ideas? I could just set it to never sleep of course but I like the
idea of it being essentially off when I'm not using it. At the moment
I've compromised with a sleep setting of 3 hours as I'm rarely using it
for that amount of time in one hit.

while I was
trialling Inguz. Granted I was at the very edge of what wireless could
achieve but it did work surprisingly well.
Still, at least it's working now that's the main thing!

A bonus, as I just found out, is that the SB wakes the mini up from
sleep when it needs to play something. How cool is that? I love this
thing :-)

Try it and let us know. Looking around these forums it seems that
there's any number of working (or not) configurations so just because
it didn't work for me doesn't mean you'll have the same issues.

Does anyone more experienced with Macs have any bright ideas? Windows I
can pull apart blindfolded but this is my first Mac so I'm at the bottom
of the learning curve...

- See about opening those specific ports. There must be a hack
somewhere even if it's not in the GUI.
Thanks,

not - yet. With the transporter, they may
break into that world. Either way, give it a few months for the dust to
settle before we all start crying about how badly things are going...

I replaced a first generation pronto with it and haven't looked back
(not that the pronto is a bad remote at all but the 885 fits my current
needs better)

other bright ideas for a low power
draw, quiet box that doesn't need any fancy TV or video features and
will just hum quietly to itself under the stairs?

Can you PM / email me?
(BTW if anyone's interested the java lib will compile in J# with
minimal changes but it doesn't play nicely with C# when you do that)

I put a piece up about the new SB3 on the website I'm writing for. It's
a new site and it doesn't get gizmodo-style traffic (yet!) but it might
generate a few new converts :-)
