The songs do seem to have tags. The ones that were not encoded using
dbpoweramp just have the album, artist, date, genre, title, and track
number (but not 1 of 8 for example, just track 1).
The ones done by dbpoweramp seem to have everything.
All the files have similar names, ie 01 A night on the
I write bliss which does artwork and organizes files but a disclaimer:
it is commercial above "100 fixes" (if fixing paths and artwork this
costs two fixes per album so will fix fifty albums).
Do the files have 'proper' names? Do they include the same artist or
album information in the name that
Could you run some sort of tagging program that lets you inspect the

I don't know what's best on Mac, but just to inspect if you have tags
at all, you could try TAG, http://sbooth.org/Tag/

I have to admit that my database is somewhat of a mystery. i think that
it is because i converted to flac using 2 different programs
(dbpoweramp and the other one I cant remember). the only thing that
seems to read everything is squeezebox server, but without artwork.
None of the other software se
Picard can do that.
I've used it myself to get my own collection in "line"..

Hi:
I am running squeezebox server on a Mac G5. All my music sits on an
external hard drive and is 95% flac format files that have been
converted from CD. Some were converted using dbpoweramp and some using
another software (cant remember the name, it was shareware).
The files that were done with
Totally 'manual' via google images, works a treat, but not I guess if
you are doing bulk ripping. I like the slow and easy approach!

I recently tried out this application http://www.blisshq.com/ . It
works a treat. The first 500 are free and then you can by 1000 matches

Im running my Duet with an HP MediaSmartServer as the music source. I
have had continual problems with album artwork showing up in the
browse view. I have to select individual songs in order to see the
artwork.
I have FLAC files with a jpeg named album in each folder

Which type of rescan are you using? You have to use a "clear and
rescan", not a "look for new and changed" rescan.

If I add cover.jpg in the correct folder and then re-scan my library,
when viewing by album the cover still doesn't appear. In order to get
the artwork to appear I have click into the album and back out again.
Is this a cache issue? and how can I get covers to appear in album view
without clicking
Thanks for the tips. I went into advanced settings and added a bunch of
alternative file names (lower and upper case initial letters), and now
a lot more artwork is showing up.

Make sure that your file names start with lower-case letters also. I
had an issue where my program was saving as Folder.jpg, had to go
through and rename 50 or so as folder.jpg

A little more background on your set up would help but a couple of
comments from my experience. First of all the standard namings that SC
looks for are "cover.jpg", "albumartsmall.jpg", "folder.jpg",
"album.jpg", or "thumb.jpg". If you want to use an alternative to one
of these you can set that
Sorry, but searching didn't help me much ...
In the album view (sc7) only a few album artworks show up. (I am not
linking to an iTunes library.)
Should cover .jpg's be named in any particular way for them to show up?

I clear and rescan about once a week. I can fix the problem by saving
the artwork in the tag info, but it's pretty slow to save so it's

What version of SlimServer?
What OS are you using?
Try doing a full re-scan. I seem to remember a bug where the first scan
produced problems with album art, subsequent scans were OK though. I
can't remember when this was fixed though.

I'm trying to setup my web interface and have noticed that some album
covers don't display as thumbnails. The artwork is saved as folder in
the folder of the music, and displays when I click on an album. Does
anyone know a quick solution for this? Also, it seems to happen more

I have this same problem, all albums have artwork as a jpg in the album
folder, courtesy of mp3toys (if you are missing artwork use this!),
when you go into the album, artwork is there, but on the main browse I
get the big question marks. I've done a clear and rescan.
How do you clear the cache
