Do I have the facility to choose DASH over HLS via the iPlayer plugin?
How do I know which one I'm using? the LMS web interface says AAC, but
that is just the codec - can't recall it saying HLS or DASH, but I'm at
work, so can't (easily) look at it!

Shoucast is limited cos BBC don't want many users.
You should be using DASH not HLS for better se
Update: Using the iPlayer plugin on my RPi system is definitely better,
despite using a higher bitrate. It has just stopped one this morning,
but otherwise it's relatively glitch-free, though not quite as stable as
Tidal etc.
So, I think there is very little bandwidth at the BBC end for their M

Since you use Windows - I hope you're using 1.5.2 and not 1.4.*

I've installed iplayer and now I'm getting a 339k AAC stream. I'll
probably not find out how well it works until Monday morning...

BBC only offer MP3 shoutcast stream
I'd assumed the stream from the mysqueezebox.com app, and the tunein
urls were different, but thinking about it, they are possibly not. I'll
install the iplayer plugin (I'm not sure if I've tried that before, but
it's worth a go...)

Just the same as what - AFAICT you are only playing the same MP3 stream
through different menus.

ISP is A&A and they have done some optimisation at their end to help
streaming, but to no avail, we can stream films etc without a glitch,
Tidal is perfect, but BBC R4 is awful.

I tried the MP3 stream this morning, and it was just the same. Players
are both wireless and wired, and that makes no difference either.
Does anyone have a setup that gives reliable radio4 that I could copy?
I think that if everyone had this issue, we'd have a lot of people
shouting about it!

LMS version 7.9 running on PiCorePlayer on RPi 3, but I also have LMS
7.9 on Windows 7 PC and the problem is the same.
I've tried tune-in radio URL, and via the BBC app from mysqueezebox.com
not sure how I'm transcoding.
I'm in the UK. The LMS I'm running at present hasn't got any plugins

I stream radio four in the morning, and at dinner time. I have a decent
internet connection, but I get constant rebuffering. This is the case
when running LMS on a high spec PC and on my current PiCoreplayer setup
on a RPi. I stream Tidal all evening without a glitch. Is it just a
