Just in the past day or so the news is around that the latest Nokia
tablet (N900 aka RX-51) will also make phone calls.. and have a 5MP
Zeiss camera.
With the excellent screen size and resolution I've always thought the
tablets would be superior to the jesus phone.

that was in the FT, Nokia have publicly denied they are ending Symbian
development, haven't they?
That said, it's pretty expected, the current S60 OS is well behind what
Apple and Google are doing - although it's interesti
Nokia will discontinue Symbian - the german news magazine 'Spiegel
Online' reports so

I see a small community growing here... that's great.
Due to a major differences in the GUI between Symbian and WM x.x. I'll
have to do quite some re-writing.
But I have looked into Symbian already, and I'll give it a go.
If it is do-able, we are talking 4 to 6 weeks.

in all the time, I can't figure out the N770 skin and iPeng doesn't work

I'd be interested, but it's not a pressing need for me. The Handheld
skin works for me, as does my SBC, and usually I'm near my laptop
anyway. But if there was a Symbian app, I would use it.
