Joggler working A-OK. No setup required, it was connected as soon as it booted up. Probably because I had it connected to the wifi router downstairs. Thanks for all your help. The good ol' WRT54GL still has its uses. Can't believe they still sell them new. I got mine for $10 on Craigslist.

I had a feeling that might be the issue. When I use IE to login, it actually tells me where I am logging into. IE reports that it's trying to log me into the WIFI PC downstairs. So how do I assign the "wired router" (upstairs) a different IP?

It might be cheaper to use the existing wifi router and a couple of homeplugs so you can connect the existing switch and make it one large network. It won't slow things down. It will work and then if you wanted to you could also stream music from the Internet butvonlybif you wanted to.

Plug the Joggler into the wifi router and it should get an IP address. Then use the connected PC and with Putty do a ssh connection to the Joggler and edit the file. I should say though that if you get it wrong you may make the Joggler unusable. Why don't you add the switch into the properly

The Joggler is expecting to find a dhcp server that will give it an IP address. This is normally part of the routers job. You don't have one do you? If that's right then yes you will need to manually edit the network config file. *Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS*
