Joggler working A-OK. No setup required, it was connected as soon as it
booted up. Probably because I had it connected to the wifi router
downstairs. Thanks for all your help. The good ol' WRT54GL still has its

Craigslist.

Both routers were the same.
Starting ip address 192.168.1.100 (Both)
ip address range 192.168.1.100 to 149 (Both)
Local IP Address 192.168.1.1 (Both)
The only difference was the wireless router has some DNS

So I changed the "wired router" to 192.168.0.1

If you answer the question
I had a feeling that might be the issue. When I use IE to login, it
actually tells me where I am logging into. IE reports that it's trying
to log me into the WIFI PC downstairs.
So how do I assign the "wired router" (upstairs) a different IP?

Just for reference
A static IP is set on the device itself
A reserved IP is set in the DHCP server and says - when the device with
this specific MAC address connects always give it this IP out of the
range
A DHCP also tells devices what DNS server to use so if for example you

Is the SqueezeOS on a usb stick or on the Joggler's internal memory? If
it's on internal then I agree with d6jg that messing
DHCP has no affect on network speed at all. It is merely a means of
allocating an ip address when a device starts up.

How fast is DHCP vs Static IP? I need a fast connection because I
sometimes use Foobar2000 with my Transporter/Touch. (Yes there is a

Normally you would use a PC and Putty to connect and edit the file but
you need an IP address for that.
Connect the Joggler temporarily to your router and see if it gets an IP
address then.

The Joggler is expecting to find a dhcp server that will give it an IP
