I'm quite happy now, there are no ressources from SBS in my images. The users have to download and install SBS by theirselfs. A script does it all automatically, the user has only read and agree to the license-agreement. The advatage is, that users can choose the SBS version to be installed by

If you want to use the standard SBS software, I'd do as Michael suggests, just download it automatically from Logitech at installation or first startup. However, if you want to customize it you have two options: 1. Contact Logitech to get permissions OR 2. If you are only supporting OSX/Linux,

thanks for the replies. A pitty no official is reacting. The question was more about the evaluation of all available options. I'm too lazy to build a live image or distribution. Users should read documentation an learn how to use their system ;) -- fragfutter

Quite simple, ship only the firmware .version files and the .bin files will be automatically downloaded on first start. -- andyg andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread:

Doesn't SBS automatically download missing firmware? There are plenty of distributions that include the server, e.g. FreeNAS, vortexbox, don't know but they might have cared about the license. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com

IIRC most of the distribution have asked the same questions and the main issue is no firmware in the distribution - all necessary firmware is downloaded automatically. I think you also have to distribute the source code so a compiled version as in the Windows distro is not allowed. If changes
