Thanks to some help from the support team at Slim Devices my problem is
solved and I have egg on my face.
Please go ahead and close this case.
After some digging the I've found that the root cause of the problem is
the ESET firewall software.

I'd really prefer not to. I thought I had fixed most of the problems:
1) Reboot the PC
2) Rescan the library
3) Reboot the controller
