Just thought I'd better write back to this thread.
Since I added the exclusion for .my* files to my virus scanner
SlimServer 6.5.1 has stayed up. It didn't stay up when I had added just
.myl to the exclusion list.
Thanks all.

Now what?
Transporter Naim NAP 250 PMC OB1s.
I beleive my problem was related to a bug (now fixed) in the Trackstat
plugin. So far so good.

impact on the issue.
I'd like to be able to run both WMC and SlimServer but for the time
being I manually start the needed service. Apparently WMC and
SlimServer are not compatible.
Have you tried turning of the Rhapsody plugin in Slimserver or starting
Slimserver with the --noupnp parameter?

I was excited to read about Windows Media Connect being a conflict,
figure it was something I could shut down as I'd never heard of it and
assumed I didn't use it - but I don't see it in the Services management
console, so I'm guessing it's not something I actually have running
after all :(

I don't know, you guys. I try to include all the information I can to
cause as little hassle as I possibly can and no-one reads it! :-)
To copy from my post:
I run Nod32 and have excluded .myi files from the scan.
I don't run any other virus scanners.
Any other suggestions very welcome.

I run Nod 32 virus scanner (only) and already exclude .myi files from
the scan. I'll try excluding .my* now and see what happens.
Thanks.

Please do so: it's complaining about .myd, too. Let us know how you do.

Just in case this was missed... and bearing in mind that there was
someone who thought it was Fishbone that caused their crash of 6.5.1...

I'm having the same sporadic problem. Sometimes when the device should
be in an off state, the screen's black like it's unplugged. Other
times it just shuts off (goes black) in the middle of a song.
I get it restarted by restarting SlimSever on my PC.
Annoying. Hope there's a fix soon.

I've updated a few times to nightly builds, hoping it would stop - I get
the errors in the event log (windows xp sp2, currently running last
night's (10/25 1am?) build) that mention an inability to create a .my*
file in either *my* temp directory (C:\Documents Settings\my
