I've been doing this with Tag Rename. Ctrl+F4 (Multi File Tag Editor)

If it can be done, and it's worth doing (i.e. supported by Slimserver and other
apps) i would like to know how.[/QUOTE Wrote:
I've been embedding cover art in flacs without problem using Tag

Does slimserver support art embeded in FLAC's?

I have just download tagrename 3.2 and it wont let me add artwork to
FLAC's or OGG's.
When i hit F5 to edit the tags, the artwork options are greyed out.

chuckiebear, i think you are mistaken mate :)
I think you are confusing *Folder* Art with *File* Art.
tagrename will download, add and display Folder art for all file
types, but it cant actually embed artwork into the actual files for OGG
or FLAC.

Could well be, I thought I was looking at a flac. However, rather than

the motions.

Yeah, mp3tag does to. A bit of a flaw in the software IMO. If they cant
write certain data to some tags, you should atleast get an error message
or something.
I think i will give up for now, much of my collection is OGG/FLAC
Same here. I don't plan changing from FLAC any time soon.
I'm surprised that Vorbis comments never had an embeded artwork spec
from the start, they seem to have done everything else pretty well
(like allowing multiple entries for comments etc.).

There could be a definite reason for this. As FLAC is a relative
newcomer, the
One wonders about the wisdom of actually embedding artwork, though.
For most (non-streaming) uses, embedding artwork in the track doesn't
make a whole lot of sense.
Artwork is relatively large (compared to other tags). It's usually the
same for all the tracks from a single album, so

Oh, you use 1 file per album and cue sheets?
Then my comments don't apply.
I'm still back in MP3 land ... lol

Depends on if artwork is important to you or not. To me it is - not the

I believe you can also make an album artwork folder with artist -

I think some software will let you embed cover art in a Vorbis comment
(Ogg or FLAC) but i don't thinkit is prt of the official spec.
TagRename doesn't let you do it.

Ok, I'm only going off the info i got from this thread on the Hydrogen
Audio forums -
Well it seems the embeding the artwork confused Slimserver a bit. I had
to clear my browser cache and manually delete slimservers cache to get
it working again.

You can do it with Mp3Tag, Just did it myself.
Simply load up the folder that contains all the subfolders containing
your music. CTRL+A to highlight every track, press the 'Action (quick)'

not automatically and it would take me weeks.
