I just tested it here and moving right does switch (and reboot the
player in the process) and no connection is made
I had to remove the power cable from the back of the Squeezebox for the
switch from wireless to Ethernet to take affect. Mearly changing the
settings in the setup menu wasn't enough. It must be a bug in the unit
functionality.

Positive; I am able to switch stations with the ethernet disconnected.
