The Tivoli stuff is really nice. We use the Tivoli iPal as a portable system, sometimes fed by an iPod, often just using the radio. We take it outside while doing yardwork or hanging in the yard. The little 2.5 mono speaker is amazing, and the built-in rechargable battery can go for many

Since the value of the SB3 for me was getting rid a computer in the bedroom, I simply connected the SB3 to the AUX of our Bose WaveRadio - may be an answer for you and within budget. -- Sb42 Sb42's Profile:

Thanks for all the great recommendations. So many great options...I have some research to do! In another thread someone mentioned the Swan M200's... only $199/pair at Newegg. Those Audioengine 5's also look tasty... -- ObjetDart

The Audioengines can be found here: http://www.audioengineusa.com/. They have great build quality for $350 powered speakers. They come in white or black and even have a power outlet on the back, so you can plug your SB right into the speaker. Unlike the Aego's, they don't require a sub. --

For a great stealth bedroom system, try the Aego-M. The sats are tiny, made of a metal alloy, and can be placed almost anywhere. The sub can be placed under the bed or behind the headboard. The set sounds excellent and the price, at $200 shipped, is reasonable. -- Pale Blue Ego
