Thanks for the non-hls link ... I have now included them in beta 0.0.28c

The stream I used for the 680 News metadata above is AAC not wrapped in
HLS.

This is the HLS version of the stream.

I can't play the stream but they look like HLS.
HLS station can provide a big playlist of audio chunks which has a long
duration - my V2 plugin plays from nearly the latest chunk which is the
usual.
I wonder whether there is some HLS sync directive which makes it play a
bit more down the list.
You should see the segment name when RNP includes those stations ...
News/Sport/Traffic & Weather/Wake Up With Rob Snow/All News Morning with
Lisa Drew along with a relevant image etc ... just in case you are not
sure what you are listening to ;)

Yes, we don't have track info for CityNews, just the station ID in the
icy field when you start a stream.

Thanks.
That is a lot better than I was seeing from their raw data.
I'll include a few of their stations in the next beta build so people in
Canada can determine if it is worth adding all 50 or so of them.
I can hear the CityNews stations from UK ... but they don't plays music
of course, so
That figures. After I posted, the next song has been playing for 2
minutes but the metadata for the previous is still displayed.

I've listened to 5 songs using the web player and the track info has
been close.
The metadata is updated before the song starts.
For example, when a station identification spot starts to play you know
what the next song is up to 15 seconds before it happens. There is no
metadata for them.
I have something working to show song/programme information from Rogers
stations in Canada.
However, they are geo-locked so testing is difficult.
I suspect that their song information is a few minutes (as many as
15-30) behind the real time ... which, if correct, would make it
useless.
