I think you are confusing two issues here. Libspotify is Linux only and
so isn't really useable by Squeezebox Server given that it needs to run
on Windows and OSX.
The other libraries are very much unofficial and it is hard to see how
Logitech could legally make use of them.

Right, Spotify uses Vorbis wrapped in DRM. The DRM decryption must be
kept secret and so lives in the firmware. The rest of the service is
implemented within the server and on the backend in MySB.com.
