You guys were right. I placed a bid on a local second hand SBv3 with
power supply. Once I got it, I connected the "new" power supply to my
own SB, it powered on instantly. I have used my setup since 2007. I
never had any issue whatsoever. The reason I "acted drastically". :)

Seems the SBv3 player name in the webgui was some kind of cache. The
player is no longer visible. My router doens't show the SBv3 either.

My SB classic V3 has been my number one music player for the last 15
years. Connected with my 25 year old Sony Integrated Amp it never failed
on me.
Untill today...
The display won't wake up. I power-cycled the unit, unplugged the power
adapter for more than 5 minutes before reconnecting. Noth
