If you ask me...
Shouldn't the SqueezeBox Controller be included with the SqueezeBox
Transporter, instead of the basic IR remote controller that's bundled
right now? I think that the SqueezeBox Transporter would be more 'high
end' and better value for money. (And easier to sell)

Nobody has indicated that it will, so I'm guessing not.

Bummer - I would think a Transporter Bundle would make some sense given
the price points.
How about some news on a Transporter 2 ??

My understanding from talking to Logitech support whilst attempting to
get a replacement backlit remote for my Transporter was that US
Transporters came with a backlit one whilst "International" ones came
with the standard remote.
I bought mine directly from SlimDevices in the States.

I bought my TP in UK, and it definitely has a backlit remote.

The back lighting on the remote is subtle. I had to take mine into a
completely darkened room in order to see the back lighting in action.

Thanks for your responses, there's definitely nothing backlit about
mine. NFI what the thinking is behind packaging different remotes to
different regions, you'd think stumping up for a Transporter would at
least get you the backlit remote. Even better I cannot order a remote

Maybe I should have made it clear that Logitech support fulfilled my
request for a replacement remote (and more). Try them. I thought the
service was superb.

In case it helps, I rang them and started a ticket on their support

My thinking too, should probably ship with the better controller
considering its price point !!!

Well, it's been over a week since I've emailed Logitech, and still no
acknowledgement or response. Who's have thought it would be so damneed

Not hard to argue.
I don't believe that there's anybody out there who would decide on the
purchase of a transporter based on whether he or she gets a controller
along with it.
Especially since that would have to be prices in somehow.

Since you ask... It could also have the opposite effect. People who
shell out for a Transporter are likely to case alot about sound
quality. Knowing that a

Is there a button on the remote that when pressed does NOTHING except
light up the backlight?
I ask this because all the buttons seem to do SOMETHING so when a I
press one to light up the remote, SOMETHING happens that I don't
necessarily want to happen.
Thanks!

The original hardware remote for my Transporter doesn't work once I've
connected to mysqueezebox.com. As in, none of the buttons does anything
at all (even the power button). It works just fine when I'm not
connected to mysqueezebox.com.
Just noticed this today, but I'm not sure I've ever tried t

I'll add that I have tried rebooting the Transporter, resetting the
Xilinx, rebooting the machine running Squeezebox Server, and trying a
different Slim Devices remote, and none of these things has fixed the
problem.

OK, I fixed it by deleting the player from mysqueezebox and adding it
back. Guess we can close the file on this one.
