After upgrading to 7.6.1 and trying a rescan, it seems to hang after a
while and I notice the error database disk image is malformed in the
scanner log:

Next time it happens you can just shut down the server, delete
everything in the cache folder, the restart the server. It should save
you a few minutes.
I did try that, but though it didn't have the same errors there were
still problems. So I resorted to a de-install.

No solution. Had to de-install and re-install.
