I have just purchased a Yamaha wx-010... Media Markt are knocking them
out for 88 so I thought it was rude not to. Anyways I just set it up
and within a few minutes had it working off the local server and
integrated with lms. This plugin is fantastic, the fact I get perfect
sync and gapless

Thanks! Reading the bit about the firewall in the readme file did help a
lot... It's working now. If only Apple would decide that Airplay could
support higher sampling/bit rates...
Or if you would be interested in creating in a MusicCast bridge, that
would be awesome too! :-)

Good to know! Too bad that Airplay only supports 44.1khz... :-(
I tried to get it working, but I can't get any sound out of my Yamaha
CX-A5100. Airplay Bridge does however autodetect the receiver. I don't
see any errors in the log file...

I was searching for something in the forum archives and found this old
thread. Just FYI, the Yamaha WX-10 and WX-30 are AirPlay compatible so
you'll get true LMS integration, ncluding sync, cross fade, replay gain
... when using my AirPlay

I just got done installing the UPnP/DNLA bridge plugin on LMS and it
works pretty flawlessly to turn my Yamaha receiver with MusicCast into a
squeezebox player. I can now leverage MusicIP and Spicefly to create
dynamic and endless playlists instead of manually having to pick music

Old thread brought back to life - but the WCX-50 does cost around 350USD
RRP - so it should be in a different league.

Musicast is on a complete different level than the old squeezebox stuff.
Spotify connect is a big deal and the ability to combine both high end
sound in your expensive rig (I am running a WCX-50 with digital out)
with multi room everywhere is great.

The Denon Heos Link is another alternative. I am using one now with
Rhapsody, Spotify, TuneIn and Pandora. Sound quality is good and it's
easy to use with a ipad, iphone or
Just saw it at a audiophile store: Denon has its own system called
Heon. Any experiences? The speakers look odd, at most.

MusicCast offers the same, also pricey.

My avr got a Firmware Update yesterday, and now MusicCast works. It

That's interesting since Yamaha claims that the compatible firmware is
available since the 20th of August... somewhere on their website or in
their Press Release.
I contacted their Support and will now wait what they reply.

Yamaha have updated their MusicCast stuff, and on the surface it may be
an alternative for SB users in the longer term and will be a competitor
to Sonos, at least.
