What LED display, you mean the main, big display screen? Its not LED.

component on the hardware.
As other users pointed out, a Squeezebox 3 + Squeezebox Controller is a
perfectly compatible pairing, and each can be purchased separately.
It'll just cost you a bit more than the Duet (Receiver +

That's a VFD (vacuum flourescent display), not a string of LED
The display on the Squeezebox isn't a few rows of LEDs. It is a vacuum
fluorescent display (VFD), which is an expensive bit of glass filled
with grids, wires, phoshor coated plates and a vacuum.

Receiver is the alternative to the SB3, for those who don't need the display.
If you prefer the SB3 you can still buy it, as well as a Controller without the
Receiver.

It's nice to walk into the living room and see what's on without having
to look/find the remote. In a social setting (think party) it's also
nice that everyone in the room can share the inf
