I believe the IR code contains a header that is not repeated when you
hold a button down.
Repeating the code in a macro does repeat the header so it's not the
same command to the Squeezebox.

Ah, you are right. The CH+ and CH- minus are brightness up and down,
but won't trigger a firmware update.
