There's a new contender in this market, the AudioEngine 2, a $199 2.0
system with a 4" wide x 6" tall cabinet.
I haven't heard them, but they look sweet and the early reviews are
very positive.

I'm using the Swan S200A's in a secondary setup. They sound superb, and
look a lot more unique than than the AudioEngines. That said, I heard
the AudioEngines at RMAF, and they were like-wise impressive sounding.

I had the same speaker choice dilemma when I bought a SB3. I opted for
the AudioEngines which at GBP200 weren't the cheapest but in terms of
performance, aesthetics and WAF, they are probably the best electronic
thing I have bought. Ever.
Ended up with a very nice minimalist setup and I've got th
I got the Aego m's and all I can say is ... Wow!
They are really impressive. Nice fit and finish, perfect footprint for
my desk, and the sound is excellent. Chalk up another forum user who is
happily using these little gems.

I just placed an order for the Aego m's.
If they were for a larger space that could tolerate a larger footprint,
I think I would hve chosen the AE5's, but given the price and the
cluttered desk...
Maybe I'll pop for the AE5's for my workshop in the garage instead!

Bit out of my price range. I'd like a good set of 2.0 speakers in the
same price range as the Aego M's - around £90.

I'm also looking for some good quality powered speakers, but they have
to be 2.0 - I don't have the space for the sub.
Any suggestions?

I have Acoustic Energy Aego M's in my study set up and am very pleased -
the desk footprint is indeed tiny. Just one thing to look out for: the
woofer is quite big and should ideally be placed not too far from the
main speakers, otherwise you can get some strange separation effects if
you move yo
Thanks. Yes, it certainly seems that those two are the front runners. At
this point I am leaning towards the Aego m's due to the small footprint
on my desk.
Would you expect the AudioEngine's to have a bit more headroom?

Both the Aego M's and the Audio Engine A5's are highly rated. I've 3
pairs of Aego M's for bedroom, study and kitchen use and am very happy
with them. Seems those with A5's are also very happy with them. I
think the A5's are somewhat dearer, but I expect either will be a good
purchase. Also ne
