been done yet. The general conference mailing list is part of the
marketing project ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

Are you sure you have the right list. OOo is (at most) ~76MB... In
addition there are plenty of CD distributors (refer to
www.openoffice.org for a list).
If you are wishing to become a distributor, then I would expect that
initially there would be large downloads to get all the required
files.
OOo does not come with an email client. There are plenty of open
source email clients (eg, thunderbird) however nothing that really
replaces MS Outlook for the commerical user.
There are some that are in the planning, but nothing of production
quality as yet.
