If I wouldn't have a dedicated server, I would choose a hosting
service,
where I can deploy the (mostly) exact project as I do on my own
server.
This for the reason of portability and because of avoiding the
learning curve..
You could have a look at [1]. These days there are lots of provider
I didn't aim to start a discussion about which IDE is better. But
every one has its own pros and cos.
While working with Aptana I had to recreate several times a broken
workspace, a really annoying work.
That was my main reason to switch from the free Eclipse-World to the
(not expensive) PyCharm

Perhaps [0] on stackoverflow helps you solving the problem (--noreload
option).
As I remember I had the same issue within Aptana.
-V, before using PyCharm I was also developing with a simple editor
(vi).
Aptana wasn't a good choice, because the support for Django isn't
built-in.

Mezzanine is a CMS built using the django framework..
I am very happy with it.
