OK, executive summary of the design ideas so far:

Hello,
I put in production dovecot yesterday.
After an hour, nobody could log in ("Max number of imap connection"

Afterward, I found these messages in the logs:

Hi,
i have a problem with dovecot-2.0.15.
All is working well except lmtp. Sieve scripts are correctly saved under
/var/vmail/test.com/test/sieve, but under lmtp sieve will use
/var/vmail//testuser/
Uid testuser has mail=t...@test.com configured in ldap.
As i could see in the debug logs, ther

No, that also works fine here :-)

Hello,
I tested with "mail_location = whatever-you-have-now:INDEX=MEMORY" and it seems
to help, but in the mean time I found another option completely undocumented that seems
to do exactly what I wanted:

I'm working on a Dovecot plugin, but I'm pretty new to Dovecot, so
there's a LOT to learn about the code base and it's pretty slow going.
I've got a few things coded so far, but I want to make sure I'm headed
down the right path and get some advice before I go too much further.

My sincere apologies for the subjectless email (my MUA should have
caught that!); the above is the corrected subject line.

Hello,
On a dovecot 2.0.14 proxy, I found that proxying managesieve works well
when using 'starttls' option in pass_attrs, but does not work when using
'ssl' option. The backend server is also dovecot 2.0.14; when using the
ssl option, it reports "no auth attempts" in the logs about

In 2.0.17 you increased LOGIN_MAX_INBUF_SIZE from 1024 to 4096.
Should you also have increased MASTER_AUTH_MAX_DATA_SIZE from (1024*2) to
(4096*2)?

to make sure there's space to transfer the command tag */

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, you're right. I should not have called it an upgrade since I actually
removed dovecot 1.2.9 completely and installed the dovecot 2.0.17 from the
source. Later, I mucked up the init file because I still used the old version
one. I'm sorry about this.
