After that it also needed:
systemctl daemon-reload
systemctl restart dovecot
Now dovecot starts up cleanly, and our performance problems are gone.

Dear list,
We moved our dovecot installation to a new vm, and ever since there are
problems logging in to our imap server during office hours. ( Evenings
and weekends are fine. ) Both the new and the old machine are dovecot
2.2.13. Symptoms:
Logging in via imap gives:
. OK Pre-login capabilities
eadm. When I install to the default
location all is well. Does anybody know how how to install to a temp location?

Once the virtual framework is in place, adding new users is trivial. In
fact, using something like PostfixAdmin can even simplify the en

I use FreeBSD, although I have never attempted to run Dovecot in a jail.

I am using FreeBSD-6.2 presently. Using 'portmanager' as my updating
application, I have never experienced the problems or conceived
problems as they may be on my system. Perhaps that is just a localized
phenomena though.

e you employing? It would seem that you could adjust the
start order of Dovecot to fit your needs. I am running FreeBSD-6.2 and
I had to make several adjustments to get SASL, Dovecot, MySQL and
Postfix all starting in the correct order.
