Looks uncritical to me. Although there is no default rule at the end of
.procmailrc, Dovecot deliver and Sieve should reroute everything not
catched by a rule to INBOX.

Have you tried the latest Thunderbird Version (Thunderbird 3)? I have been
told that IMAP Support should be much better than in older versions

Hi there Timo.
Your suggestion worked like a charm. Thanks a lot for this and all your
hard work on Dovecot.

I am running Maildir (obtained via [mac|darwin] ports) on my Powerbook Pro
to operate as local mail storage. My mail is stored in the Maildir format.
Is it possible to set Maildir not to put a dot in front of the directory
names? (e.g., ~/Maildir/somefolder instead of ~/Maildir/.somefolder). OS
someplace else? Either directly in LDAP, or in some
database, or a common directory for all user's sieve files?

Hello...
I had configured mail_plugin twice in the "protocol lda" section of
dovecot.conf DOH!
I'm assuming the last entry (cmusieve) overwrote the first entry (quota).
I have cmusieve and quota on one line now and things work as expected.

Hello...
Is this also true for my problem with users over quota receiving mails?

Hello
I still have the problem of deliver not honoring quotas. Users over quota still
receive mail.

As Charles Marcus said, my problem is with postfix, not dovecot.

2. Added the below to /etc/postfix/main.cf:
local_recipient_maps = proxy:ldap:/etc/postfix/ldap/local_recipients.cf
Postfix now rejects mail to users not in my LDAP database (No uid matching the recipient with the

result of "dovecot -n".
Can someone help me get this sorted out?

operation will fail if user is
already over quota. If you wish to make this work, you can use ignore setting, which doesn't count
the quota at all for the given mailbox:

3. Move section "protocol lda {" to the end of dovecot.conf
This gives me the correct quota when logging in with imap, but mails sent to the user are not

Maybe I could have a script extract the quota-data from the LDAP-server and save it in the file

2. The mail is saved in the SENT folder on a dovecot account. This surprises you as you think it
should be rejected as this would bring the account over quota.
Correct?

users demand 15GB+. Does dovecot "prefer" mailboxes within a certain size?

Hi!
I've got dovecot 1.0.rc15.
I want dovecot to listen only on localhost for imap, and on any interfaces for
imaps. So I put the following into my config:
protocol imap {
listen = 127.0.0.1:143
ssl_listen = *:10993
..
}
dovecot -n correctly reports:
listen: 127.0.0.1:143
ssl_listen: *:1
101 - 134 of 134 matches
