You're right, Jay. The TR7's PTO is basically the same design from the
4-line and is probably not very stable for PSK31.
For PSK, I'd think the RV75 would be the ticket as it's a PLL so stability
shouldn't be an issue. Although excessive phase noise might be. ;-)

Hi,
I have been operating PSK-31 with a TR-7 for several years. If it drifts, it is barely perceptable. If you have one, use an RV-7. This will negate any possibility of drift caused by heat buildup in the TR-7. Outside of the pilot lamp and whatever slight heat might be built up when the RV-7 i

1. The TR7 can be used on PSK. However, stability (frequency)
may be a problem with some TR7s. If you have the remote VFO, it
would be the best choice when working PSK BUT you never know until you
try.
2. The Rascal units are good...If you buy the kit. Buy it and
build it yourself.
Hey Jay -
Thanks for the hint about using the rear audio jack for the received audio for PSK
operation. I was wondering about that myself, but I didn't feel like removing all the
connectors off the back of the rig to look at it (call me lazylol).
Also, some folks have warned about freque

Use the Low Level Audio Jack on the rear curtain of the TR7. The
audio at this jack is constant and is a better choice than using the
phone jack and playing with the volume control.

Hi guys -
I am sure this has been brought up before, but has anyone successfully used a TR-7 or
other such vintage Drake rig for PSK?
I would assume that the same set up for PSK would be used for RTTY. The last time I
used RTTY I had a PK-232MBX, but I sold that off years ago. I just downlo
