Some time ago, someone suggested a McMaster-Carr replacement for the Drake

Hi Drakelist
Does anyone out there have a working original Erie 18.1 MHz crystal they
wish to sell? This is for the 40 Meter band.
I could order a new replacement but thought I would see if I could find a
working original first.
thanks

Dick,
McMaster-Carr had a RIDICULOUS price, like $5.60 EACH on the web site, and when
questioned, said that was the price, and checked correct. I gave up after
that. I am SURE that was for a box of 50 or 100, but couldn't get them to
budge. Just search for pan head, slotted 1/4, black oxide
Hi Bill,
Thanks very much for the reply. After I sent the email request, I took my head
out of the sand and went to the McMaster-Carr site and searched. I came up with
the same part number that you have. I also came up with the slotted head
version at $6.04 EACH. I emailed McMaster-Carr about
Hi Don,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. After I sent the question, I took my head
out of the sand and went to the McMaster-Carr web site. I found what I needed.
The slotted head screws were $6.04 EACH and the Phillips Head screws were $5.28
PER 100. I know which ones I will use.
Thanks

There is another listing for small screws with a vent hole drilled

H guys,
Try these, they're black oxide, slotted, various lengths. pretty close
to original. I like the slotted look, just be a bit careful to avoid
scratching the paint.

Phil,
The S Meter becomes an ALC indicator in transmit.
The VOX delay in CW was never enough in my oppinion. The only way to increase
the delay and have some control over it is by mounting a pot in one of the
extra holes in the back of the TR-4 and some extra capacitance. Check this out

And after 216 years you would have worn out at least 5 sets of cabinets and
untold number of screwdrivers... And your age at that time, you would need
someone else to operate the screwdriver, lol...73's, Charlie...
