First, thanx to all who replied with suggestions. I tried two methods, WD-40
and lighter fluid. I chose those two because that's what I had on hand at the
house.
Both methods seem to work equally well, with no apparent damage to the paint.
Both methods are quite slow and the process is tedio

Grandfather's TR-4. Since then, I have lost touch with those who can

Rustoleum V Satin Black is a good match for the twins. IIRC, the 2B
has a non-satin finish, but V is close. There's a Krylon "Semi-Flat
Black" that might be better for it, it's good for older Hallicrafters rcvrs,
before the SX-101's.

Hi Jim,
For removing sticky labels I have always used the spray-on lubricant
WD-40. I have never experienced paint damage with this product. Just
wash surface after use carefully with soap and warm water and dry
thoroughly afterwards. They do actually mention on their UK website
that it can be use
