Thank you to all who responded to my listing for the musty R-4C. The odor
from the receiver is definitely a musty, damp basement (or other storage
area) type of smell. I have numerous other used pieces of RL Drake equipment
and none has ever smelled like this R-4C. I presume the radio must have

300 or 500Hz (don't remember which) in B
some value of capacitor for AM in C
With radio set to LSB and filter A I get a whistle of around 2KHz which disappears if I reduce the RF gain control to
below around half way. The PBT control will
