Hello Gene: Glad it was not the relay. For tubes, unfortunately for the pocketbook, the best test is to sub in a known good tube. Many times, even a good tester, will indicate good and a different tube will work. I would try the 6EV7 as that is what Drake used in the TR-4. I dont have a C

All, Update on the TR-4c relay issue. I did the pull test - i.e. pulled the tube while the radio was hanging in transmit. The relay immediately opened and radio went back to receive. Seems that the relay is Ok. Pulled the 6CG7 and placed it in the Hickok 6000 tester. It tested as "goo
