pointer knobs? I was thinking of using model enamel and a toothpick, wiping

That's one way to do it. Make sure you've got the rest of the knob polished as
it will make paint removal easier.

I use water bsed artist's acrylic paint to fill the engraved lettering
on panels, or groove on knobs/ I use a flexible thin pc of neoprene or
similar as a squeegee. The paint is about the consistency of ketchup.

squeeze the body of the pen as you roll
