I already use a private GitHub repository to host the DSpace codebase
for "my" four repositories and it would help immensely to have the
official DSpace code in GitHub too. I also believe that this can lower
the threshold for community participation while still allowing

I think that the usage of GitHub will positivelly affect the DSpace
development. It will facilitate the code sharing and communication,
introduce quantitative and qualitative increase in contributions and
probably ease the way for implementation of new features.
