each collection. Has any effort been made to allow administrators to
do this via web UI?
This would greatly reduce the need for system-admins to touch DSpace
installation and should be added to future feature requests.

collection, does it automatically delete all the items as well?

Yes, but I think that if any item is mapped to another collection, it
may not be deleted. Others can correct me on this if I'm wrong.

the column "expires" of the table registrationdata is not used at the
moment.
The token is thus valid until the eperson uses it, then it is deleted.
An eperson performing password forgotton several times, will receive the
same token until this is used.
