I'm sure there are going to be a number of D-Star users at Dayton this year.
I'm curious to know what frequencies do D-Star user congregate on there?
I usually go for a day or two and thought I might drag the IC-91AD along, just
to see who is around.

Bob,
Congrats on the new system. I drive through Peoria occasionally, so I'll try to
see if I can work it next time I come through.

I wasn't able to go last year, but usually Icom has a repeater in one of
their booths. I believe Dayton is also now served by a repeater system

Just south of Dayton is Cincinnati and last month two of our most popular
analog repeaters converted to D-Star. The repeater antennas are located at
700 ft on a local TV tower and do a pretty good job covering most parts of
South Dayton, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Give us a shout if

Nate:
What about having a remote access from my home using
UR?:your repeater call - means call transmitted correctly
RPT?:your gateway call - means remote busy or unknown
RPT? can also mean you're not solid into your local repeater (callsigns got
mangled).
It's often the real source of the problem for weak HT users. Their
transmission is good enough
Hi All,
FYI: I've recently added all the D-Star repeaters on Google maps. In the
left menu, click on the the Map tab under each specific geographical
location to view the related Google map. Clicking on a specific repeater
marker on the map links to jfindu, just like the pull down menus.
Enjoy!
RPT? is normal for a Dplus Linked call that tricks the gateway into
thinking it is going nowhere. :-) steve

He wasn't asking for help with a Dplus linked call. He was asking for help
in talking to JA stations.
There are no Dplus links to JA, currently possible.

I'll add in my 2 cents worth on the ID-800H. How about a remote cable
that doesn't need to be secured with a screw?
I like to remove mine from my car (I've found a means to use Yaesu
slide-in mounts for this), re-attach the control head and then use it
while indoors with a portable antenna
Hi All,
I created a new group called ICOM_ID800H_DSTAR. Whoever created the original
group (ICOM_ID800H) dedicated to the 800H has not responded to repeated
correspondence for over two months. I contacted Yahoo group help to take over
the moderation of the group but was denied. Hence, we
It might be fun to get a D-Star group together for dinner one night? Being a
newbie any chance to learn more would be great!

This is NOT true. While not at a high site (yet), W8BI C is on 147.11
and covers Dayton well. The 440 module has been tested.
