Peter, Evans here,
I think this would be the FIRST GENERATION of the dstar
data stuff, it's a white box that can be mounted outside
on a tower or inside, but does not come with an RP2C.
Hence stand alone.

what is happening is when the repeater talks back your catching
repeater jibber jabber.
It happens alot to me here on our local system, not all the time,
but 10 % of the time.

Can't say I have had that issue
I did when it was the pre- keyup issue...
Sent the 2820 in a year ago...
story as I have to say is when I got
my radio back everyone compared it
to my IRLP systems, clean cut, and el naturel!
Even my son's voice used as an id, you can tell
a difference
yes I did send the mic with the radio, thought it was the root of
the problem only thing I can think of is go back through
the achieves of the icomamerica forum and look for the
2820 warranty issues

Be sure to check out W4AES and soon to go gateway K1XC Orlando...
and then you can tap into Lakeland KJ4ACN also!

On Sun,
Make contact with KD4AGC, He uses the U82 on our system here in Lakeland
and on the Tampa Systems also. He has also used it on W4AES in the past
also.
He loves it, though not much to speak of programing wise, but for
UHF operation and several wide area repeaters, works fine.

The other way you can do this is to rename the dvtool.jar
to dvtool.jar.bak, then rename the beta to dvtool.jar
I have played with the Beta WAY BETTER!
double click on it, or rename, it still works GREAT!

Site to go look at would be www.fab-corp.com, they maintain
the NI4CE B system with wifi on 5.6 GHz. They have just about
anything you need to make a good link happen, the other thing
they also have NLOS equipment too (802.11 G in the 902 band)

Al, you need at least 1Mb UPLOAD to maintain a good QSO.
(upload from the internet provider that is...)
Minimum would be 768Kb up. I run a 768/128 and can not
use multicast functions due to the upload speed...
Also, if we have more then one dongle user connected, the
data goes somewhere beyond
