Randy, Actually the problem was a chip on the bottom side of the motherboard had decided to blow its top. It must be a chip in the power circuit as the computer would run fine as long as the AC & battery were connected. You may now refer to me as, Looking for 2300 or 280 Mobo, Mike Randy & C

Is it possible to replace the motherboard of a 280c with that of a 2300? If yes, is it difficult? If yes, any advice beyond the obvious? Is the memory the same, for instance? The PRAM battery the same? What could I take from my 280 and put in the 2300? Is it possible to switch screens? (I ask a

Okay, so some of you guys might remember that I've been trying to get wireless up on my 2400c... for like... ever... like... a year kind of ever. I'm starting to suspect that my PC card cage might be wierd. Its cardbussed by MCE. It works great with my modem, ethernet card and USB, but not w
