I had best luck with Netscape 4.5 and 4.8 on my old Duo 2300c.
It had 40 mb RAM and still swapped out to disk a lot, but out
of Icab, IE, Mozilla, and Opera even it wuz the best. I found
Mozilla to be horribly unstable.

download the standalone NS Navigator 4.08, and I'm sure you'll get a much
smaller memory footprint. Perhaps use URL Manager Pro for your
bookmarks(works with any browser) so your browser won't have take more time

I have recently installed iCab as the default browser on my Ram Doubled
(72MB), Speed Doubled, Mac OS 8.1, Duo2300c. I find iCab to be superior to
Netscape and IE 4.5, 5.x.
