The optional Powwer Supply cooling fan on my Alpha 87A Amplifier

Has anyone found a way to run the SteppIR in the general mode using the FT-950.
It runs fine with my TS-2000 kenwood.. I can't get the radio to talk to the
SteppIR at any baud setting. I can't find any info in the radio manual. any
help appreciated.
