Hi Folks - smtp send sever down - on web mail.
TKS Tom, N4KG, for sharing the # of radials vs length
of radials for verticals. Longer the length of radials,
more radials you need (for ground mounts). Think of
of it as your "overall artifical ground density". 4/10

I have made serval posts as to my 160 antenna so please bear with
me. It is simply a 1/4 wave #14 insulated wire tossed over a tall oak tree
(approximately 80 feet high) in an inverted position. There are 120 radials
60 to 100 foot long that were cut to fit the property. They ar

I am still taking notes - making printouts.
Some intitial conclusions:

with elevated feedpoint and radial system isolated
Hmmm..verticals must be pretty private !!
Nobody gone public.
Lots folks like the Butternut HF-9V.
One vote for an R-7/R-8.
GAPs are good for dummy loads and holding up tomatoe plants.
Anybody using any Cushcrafts ???
C'mon folks - radiate equally poor in all directions ??
