Hi, I can confirm what was described in comment #36: after editing the
.pkla file and rebooting I get a "Hibernate" option in the menu.
However, I do not see this option in the login screen...
The updates I applied today are the following:

Can someone confirm this bug still exists on a fully up-to date

This is ridiculous. I have a brand new Saucy installation, I haven't
been messing around with anything like Kervin (who's not even the

I think the real issue is not the indicator "coming back" but the
bluetooth state being reset on reboot (the indicator should stay here
and bluetooth be disabled on reboot if it was previously disabled).
This is a (quite serious) power management issue since bluetooth eat
energy.

I suspect that restarting the networking is also resetting the loopback
device and breaking the connections between X clients and the window
server. Perhaps the network restart script changed at some point.

@Sebastien: thanks, libgail-3-0 did the trick, no more removed packages.
I did `apt-get install
{indicator-appmenu,libgtk-3-0,libgtk-3-common,libgail-3-0}/saucy-proposed` to
apply updates.
I also see small leak: 40 Mb → 70 Mb in 5 hours. OTOH, it can also be explained
by heap fragmentation.
