Ah, this is a bug in the design. Where there is a battery slot with no battery in it, its menu item should say "Battery (not present)". But with the current design, that item will never appear, unless there happen to be any other chargeable components connected to ensure that the menu is present at

Hi Efren, thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The indicator's visibility is behaving correctly as per the spec . I'm happy with the current behavior, but this is a Design question, so I'm assigning this ticket over to the Design
