Yep. And here come the supporters of those who cause their own problems and
blame it on the software.
Why is it that some users don't have problems? Perhaps they are not causing
them? Why is it that users who cause problems continually blame the software
and are unwilling to consider that they ar
Why are you posting a message sent only to you to the reflector?
You obviously don't need my help.

I must correct myself.
Using the DX4WIN.CTY that was shipped with DX4WIN 7.02 in 2006, where the
Prefix for USA was "W", I did not encounter the bug.
Using the DX4WIN.CTY from 10 December 2007 (that last one before the addition
of FJ), where the prefix for USA was "K", I *could* reproduce the bug
I have been a Dx4win user for over ten years. Don't have the exact date of
the change, but I think it was very early in the life of Dx4win. Made the
change to Dx4win because of very poor and expensive service on two other
logging programs.

It does seem that a LOT of the problems discussed here recently have been,
at the very least, partially, if not completely, due to the fact that the
complainant did NOT back up his/her data BEFORE trying the changes they did!
Which makes ANY complaint about the software per se somewhat academic, I

My understanding is that Paul has an FT-2000 that he is using to debug the

Hi Folks,
I've been trying to resist commentary on this topic, but the keyboard got the

I can empathize with those of you who lost data. Mike you were not the only
one. It's unfortunate that what happened, happened.
First of all, a "perfect storm" was somewhat responsible for what

Hi To all
I just happy with DX4Win Because you have a very good help of a lot of

This reminds me of the FT2000 and Mark V reflector. Person has

So where is the tech support from Paul? That is what the issue really
Since I get to do it again, what is the correct procedure for:
1. Adding FJ as a new country
2. Adding TO5FJ as a call in that country. I used to simply enter a Q,
force it to be FJ, save it, and delete it. Is this still safe?
3. Otherwise, is there a safe way to go to a new country file w

Lou,
I have no argument with what you say except that new countries being added
is such a rare occurrence that it should not be seen as a major problem. The
process that is available, while difficult to use, works just fine if you
follow the steps. Sure it could be streamlined - that would be welc

Kostas and I have found two paths to happiness with DX4win. His is to have
all of his unique call assignments added to the AD1C updates, mine is to
never update my country file from the one I have built over the years with
my unique assignments in it.
Same result -> no problems.

I believe the strongest point of dx4win is this what you are talking about.
We write a call and we all have the right country and the right zone. I am
tha cq checker in Greece and a friend was asking me what is this zone 2,
never worked. I asked his log because i was sure he has worked the zone
